I have downloaded the Shared Ground software on to my PC and installed it. When I try to use it I get various "run-time" errors.

If you have not stayed current on your Microsoft™ updates you may need an update to Visual Basic. Do the following:
  1. Reboot your machine—unless you have already tried this since initially installing Shared Ground. Did that fix it?
  2. Go to start > control panel > add/remove programs > Uninstall Shared Ground.
  3. Update your Visual Basic Microsoft software:

Go to the following Microsoft site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx ?familyid=7b9ba261-7a9c-43e7-9117-f673077ffb3c &displaylang=en

You can download the latest Microsoft update for all Windows™ Operating Systems.

Here is what you need—Service Pack 6 for Visual Basic 6.0: Run-Time Redistribution Pack (vbrun60sp6.exe)
This file (vbrun60sp6.exe) is a self-extracting executable file that installs versions of the Microsoft Visual Basic run-time files required by all applications created with Visual Basic 6.0. This is a normal update. Please follow the Microsoft instructions you will see at this link. Once complete, you will need to reboot your machine.
  4. Go to http://www.sharedground.com/product_info/download.php
Follow the instructions to download Shared Ground. Click save, not run! Save to "My Downloads".
  5. Once the download is complete, use Windows Explorer to go to saved location ("My Downloads"). Click on Shared Ground to install the Shared Ground program. Follow the instructions from the installation wizard.
  6. Following that, Shared Ground should work properly. Open and test as you did before.

I created a Parenting Plan using Shared Ground. I looked at the calendar and there are no entries.

Open Shared Ground and then open the Parenting Plan you created. Go to "Wizard" and click on "Child Profile." Make sure you have each child's birth year entered correctly and that the field marked "End of Residential Placement—Age 18" has not expired. If this date is in the future, you will now see calendar entries.

Also, during the initial set-up of a Parenting Plan, you must use the "Next" button to advance the program until you reach the end of set-up where there is a "Finish" button. Select "Finish" and a confirmation message will be displayed confirming a successful profile. During the initial set-up of a plan using "Save & Exit" will not establish a successful profile.

I tried to create a Parenting Plan using Shared Ground but every time I try to "Save & Exit" I get an error message.

Check the Family Profile wizard, "Profile Name" field. Make sure that you do not have any syntax symbols (/,|,\) in this field. The hyphenation (-) symbol is allowed, for example, Jones-Berg. But Jones/Berg is not allowed.

How can I schedule Winter Break so that the "Division Day" is on Christmas Day at noon?

Currently, you must have a "Recurring School" schedule in place (turned on) in order to address Winter and Spring Break schedules. If you have done this, set the "Winter Break" schedule as you want with the division day as noon on December 25. Then go to the priority Wizard and give Winter Break a higher priority than Holidays. (Winter Break = 2, Holidays = 3, etc.)

(Note: In release v2.0, the Winter and Spring Break schedule will be decoupled from the Recurring School schedule and will be able to be turned on or off as applicable.)
